APPLICATION INFORMATION
Criteria: Who is eligible for the scholarship?

Students (graduating seniors) at Monrovia High School (at least 2 years)

Minimum 3.0 GPA

Anticipated attendance at a four year university or a California Community College in preparation for transfer to a university. (Scholarship will be awarded upon verification of attendance by the university or community college selected. Trade Schools are also eligible).

*Submit a one-two page essay per the instructions below.

*Sealed copy of Transcript (embossed with MHS Seal, Mailed to The Congo Foundation.

Optional: Download and print a copy of Teacher/Coach Recommendation page. Have teacher or coach mail recommendation to The Congo Foundation.

All of the Above must be submitted on or before APRIL 22nd, 2024. (PLEASE NOTE: Applications received after 4/22/24 will not be considered). * REQUIRED

Essay Requirements:
Write a one to two page essay. Think about each question listed below and include information about each question in your essay.

How has your High School experience influenced your life and your decision to pursuing you education?

What extra-curricular activities did you participate in (school sponsored or not) and did this participation help you in your decision
to continue your education. If so, how did this experience help in your decision?

How has your family played a role in the choices that you have made in education and other activities? Explain any family circumstances
that you feel we should know about such as illness, unemployment, handicap, divorce, etc.

where do you see yourself in ten years? Be sure to tell us about both your personal and professional goals.
